Dr Agathe Heyraud

Scientific Advisory Board Member and Academic Co-Founder

Award-winning Imperial biomaterials scientist and Co-Founder whose research helped create the Bouncy Bioglass™ platform.

Dr Agathe Heyraud completed both her MEng and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. Her doctoral research focused on the additive manufacturing of sol-gel hybrid implants for osteochondral regeneration, combining advanced biomaterials design, digital manufacturing and tissue engineering to develop next-generation regenerative implants. In recognition of the quality and impact of her research, she was awarded the prestigious Larry Hench Biomaterials Prize for the best PhD in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at Imperial College London.

Following her PhD, Agathe joined Imperial College London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where she led the development and preclinical evaluation of regenerative osteochondral and large bone implants while also serving as Laboratory Operations Manager. Her expertise spans bioactive glass synthesis, inorganic-organic hybrid materials, digital light processing (DLP) additive manufacturing, scaffold characterisation, preclinical biological evaluation and translational biomaterials development.

As Co-Founder of ChondroBounce™, the technology that was licensed by Bounce Biomedical, Agathe helped develop a novel Class III regenerative cartilage implant from early-stage research through preclinical validation, while building the commercial and regulatory foundations for the platform. She also completed the MedTech SuperConnector MSK Innovation Accelerator Programme, strengthening the translational pathway for the technology. Alongside her academic research, she has undertaken consultancy projects with companies including GSK, Unilever and Xeperate, applying advanced materials science to real-world industrial challenges.
