Professor Oliver Kessler is Chief Medical Officer and Board Director of Bounce Biomedical. An internationally recognised orthopaedic surgeon, sports medicine specialist and medical technology innovator, he provides clinical leadership for the company’s regenerative medicine programmes and guides the translation of novel biomaterial technologies into products that address unmet clinical needs in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal medicine.

Professor Kessler is Founder and Medical Director of Zentrum für Orthopädie und Sport, a leading specialist orthopaedic and sports medicine practice in Zürich, Switzerland. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in cartilage repair, sports injuries, joint preservation surgery and regenerative orthopaedic therapies, treating patients ranging from elite athletes to individuals with degenerative musculoskeletal disorders.

Professor Kessler also brings substantial medical device industry experience, having spent six years in executive leadership roles with Stryker Orthopaedics, where he was involved in the development of novel orthopaedic products and the management of musculoskeletal research programmes. This experience provided him with extensive expertise in orthopaedic product development, clinical evidence generation, surgeon education and the commercialisation of innovative healthcare technologies.

In addition to a thriving clinical practise Professor Kessler serves as a consultant and advisor to multiple leading global orthopaedic companies, providing strategic guidance on product development, clinical evaluation, surgeon adoption and innovation within the musculoskeletal sector. Through these roles, he remains closely involved with emerging technologies and evolving clinical practice across the international orthopaedics market.

He has also been closely involved with the development of regenerative orthopaedic technologies through his work with Orthox, where he served as a Clinical Director and Board Member, providing surgical insight and clinical guidance that supported the advancement of innovative tissue-regenerative implants from preclinical development into clinical evaluation.

As Chief Medical Officer of Bounce Biomedical, Professor Kessler leads clinical strategy, surgeon engagement and translational development across the company’s portfolio. He works closely with the scientific and executive teams to ensure that product development remains focused on clinically meaningful outcomes and addresses the real-world challenges faced by patients, surgeons and healthcare providers.
